MUSICAL LANGUAGES
television report based on a parallel and sequential montage explaining the life and history of two very different musicians who live and offer their music in the city of Barcelona. Each expresses his love for music using a very unusual technique, and communicates without language, simply by musical notes. It is music as a universal language, as a communicative art. In technical terms, the sound quality of the report is of particular interest. It was difficult as both the live music and the interviews were recorded in situ (in the street). Also noteworthy is the parallel montage structure, i.e. two stories that merge in time and in different spaces.
First television report in a series of three (Musical Languages, Grioting and Everything for coexistence) within the “Television Reporting Postgraduate Diploma” programme taken at the IDEC in 2003. Produced with Cibele Haas.
